🎬 Runway & AMC Networks Team Up for an AI Creative Leap!.
Runway recently partnered with AMC Networks to integrate advanced AI tools directly into the network’s creative and promotional workflows. From now on, AMC Networks will leverage Runway's generative AI to craft visuals, promos, and even scene concepts effortlessly and efficiently.
Here's how it's reshaping the industry:
📸 Instant Promotional Imagery: Forget expensive and lengthy photo shoots—AI-generated thumbnails, posters, and teasers can now be created swiftly, streamlining marketing teams' workflows.
🎥 Scene Pre-Visualization: Creators can quickly prototype and visualize scenes before shooting, significantly reducing production costs and boosting creative exploration.
🚧 Considerations & Discussions
Industry Adoption: Following Lionsgate and other major studios, AMC's choice signals a broader industry shift toward AI integration.
Creative Roles & Ethics: This raises important questions about traditional creative roles, IP ownership, and the rights around AI-generated content.

🎙️ElevenLabs V3 Alpha Review: Our Honest Take
Last week, we shared a peek at ElevenLabs’ latest V3 alpha—you can revisit that initial reveal here. And wow, it’s a game-changer. We couldn’t wait to dig deeper, test it out, and tell it like it is.
👩🔬 What We Tested & What We Found
We started with our very own trained Version 2 voice clone.
From there, we experimented with V3’s emotional settings.
Here’s the quick rundown:

Prompt
Creative at 0: It was fun and expressive, but the voice shifted a bit. Listen to our example
Natural: This setting had plenty of personality, but honestly? It changed the voice quite a lot. Curious? Hear it.
Robust: Closest to our V2 clone yet wonderfully enriched with emotional depth. Check out this sample
🎬BFI & CoSTAR’s AI in the Screen Sector Report
The BFI and CoSTAR (Goldsmiths, Loughborough & Edinburgh) landed June 9, 2025. "AI in the Screen Sector: Perspectives and Paths Forward" is a 45-page roadmap that dives into how generative AI is already transforming the UK screen industries — and what needs to happen next for it to be ethical, fair, and creatively inclusive.
📌 Why It Matters for Creatives
🎭 Protecting Your Work
AI has used over 130,000 film & TV scripts without permission, raising concerns about protecting creative ideas and intellectual property.💼 Job Security
Entry-level creative roles like runners and junior VFX artists could be at risk. The industry urgently needs more AI training opportunities to prepare creatives.🌱 Ethical & Sustainable AI
The report encourages designing AI tools that are environmentally friendly and culturally sensitive, promoting creative diversity rather than uniformity.
🛠️ The Nine Bold Moves
Grouped under three big priorities:
Frameworks
Launch an IP‑licensing market so AI systems pay for what they learn
Embed carbon-conscious guidelines in AI tools
Co-design AI with creatives to avoid cultural erasure.
Targeted Support
Build a central AI observatory/resource hub for screen industries
Ramp up formal AI training (not just informal, ad-hoc stuff)
Create public transparency standards — audiences deserve to know when AI is present.
Growth
Help the UK’s creative tech scene scale
Unlock funding for mid‑stage AI/creative tech startups
Empower independent creators with AI tools, funding, skills
🧭Takeaway: A Crossroads for Creativity
BFI’s message? AI is neither villain nor savior — it's a kit of creative tools sitting on a moral fault line. We can choose to shape it: license thoughtfully, train widely, design responsibly. Without action, we risk seeing AI undercut our economic value — but handled well, it could elevate indie voices, streamline workflows, and help good stories flourish on any budget.

🎥 Hollywood vs. AI – Disney & Universal Take Midjourney to Court
On June 11, 2025, Disney and NBCUniversal dropped a 110‑page lawsuit in a Los Angeles federal court, hurling major accusations at Midjourney—calling it a “bottomless pit of plagiarism.” The studios allege Midjourney trained its AI on their copyrighted characters—think Elsa, Spider‑Man, Homer Simpson, Darth Vader, Minions, and more—and then churned out unofficial copies like a “virtual vending machine.” They claim it makes them hundreds of millions in subscription revenue—I’m looking at you, Midjourney’s ~$300M in 2024—and says misuse of their IP isn’t cool just because it’s AI-generated 🦸♀️👾
Why It Matters to Creatives
💸 Fair Pay for Artists
This case might decide if AI companies must pay to use artists' works. A win could make sure artists get recognized and compensated.📐 Clearer AI Guidelines
If Midjourney loses, AI platforms might need stricter rules about using copyrighted material, making their processes clearer.🌱 Protect Your Creativity
Knowing the legal limits of AI helps you use these tools responsibly, protect your own ideas, and avoid trouble.
🧭 Quick Explainer: What’s “Fair Use”?
A legal defense allowing unlicensed use of copyrighted materials for purposes like commentary, criticism, or parody.
AI companies claim their output is "transformative."
But studios argue this mass scraping and character mimicry goes too far

🎬The Wildest AI‑Generated Ad Shines at the NBA Finals
During Game 3 of the NBA Finals (June 11, 2025), betting platform Kalshi aired a fully AI‑generated ad—costing a mere $2,000—crafted by AI filmmaker PJ Accetturo using Google’s Veo 3 text-to-video tool, guided by conversational AI assistant Gemini.
It featured surreal scenes like a man strutting with a chihuahua and someone “swimming in a pool of eggs,” spotlighting quirky betting options (NBA outcome, hurricanes, egg prices, even aliens drinking beer!)
🛠️ How It Was Made
PJ spent 2–3 days and 300–400 AI generations to churn out 15 usable shots—all by himself: a 95% cost reduction compared to traditional ads.
He walked us through his creative flow:
Draft script →
Use Gemini to translate into detailed shot prompts (5 prompts at a time) →
